Super Weekend

Our weekend started out with Family Fun Night at Union Grove Elementary School. They had bouncy, jumpy, blow upy things for the kids plus music blairing and games. I was afraid that Miss Kylin was not going to have any fun because I thought she was too little. I let her go in a jumpy house with Casey. She held her own in there. The jumpy house had these poles sticking and Ky would tackle them and just laugh. After jumping for a few minutes the kids climbed up a ladder thingy and got to go down a slide. I had Casey follow Ky to help her but it turned out she didn't need no stinkin help. She's such a fearless monkey! After that I let her go on the other blow upy slides. The gym got pretty crowded with kids so the lines were super long (according to Casey). Good thing there was music going to entertain us. They played "Cha Cha Slide." I have some (not so great) video of Ky doing the dance! That was worth chasing the kids around for 2.5 hours in the school gym! Casey talked one of his friends into doing a joust with him. Watching two kindergarteners joust is a riot! They were pretty well matched. I do think Casey got a few good hits in. They also had this duel thing where you went up against a friend and you had a bungy cord around your waist. The object of the game was to see who could run and place their marker the farthest. The kids were getting whipped back! Another very entertaining bouncy thing!

On Sat. Josh and I took the kids ice fishing at Bong State Recreation Area. It was really windy but not too cold. We took all our gear out and it's not too bad in our shack with the heater going! I hung out in the shack with Ky. We had our hole we were fishing from but didn't have any bites. That's not really too surprising since our fishing was me dropping the line down the hole and Ky realing it up. Josh fished outside and Casey played in the snow. When Josh got sick of sitting out in the cold he came in. We all fit quite cozy in our little fish shack! We didn't have a bite all day but it was still fun. Casey almost got run over by our fish shack when he was pulling it in. The wind was a little faster than Casey was. Good thing Dad was there to save him. When we got home Josh had to work at the hospital so we invited Laura over. She ate dinner with us and we rented movies. I think Spy Kids 2 was a hit with the kids.

On Sunday morning I took Casey skiing at Wilmot Mt. I was going to go boarding but I didn't know how Casey was going to do (and I didn't want to blow $40) so I hung out and watched him. He was in the never skied before class but got moved up to the next level! I was so proud of him and he enjoyed it and wants to go again! I think I'll take him next week. I need him to get at least to the tow ropes so I can join in the fun! He can do an awesome snow plow though! Go Casey! After Casey's lesson we ate our PB&J and then headed back to the baby bunny hill. Casey went down and I pushed him back up. He told me he could walk up himself but I didn't want to wait there all day! After about 40 minutes of this I was tired so we turned in the skis and headed home. We had ourself a little Super Bowl party. I made guacomole and Laura made lil weenies. For dinner it was chicken wings, italian bombers and onion rings. Laura brought stuff over to make kiddie cocktails. The kids were really excited for those! Before the game we got our taxed done (thank goodness for deductions!) and then watched the game. It really was a super weekend!
