Florida continued....

On Saturday we went to SeaWorld and then headed up to Daytona Beach. SeaWorld was ok. The sharks were cool and the Shamu show was fun. It was really hot and busy so we didn't stay there all day.

The beach was incredible! Both of the kids had an awesome time! Casey didn't really like to swim in the ocean but had fun playing in the sand. I think Kylin ate at least a bucket full of sand. The pool at our hotel was nice. It was shallow enough for Casey to play in.

Florida

We survived our trip to Florida! It was actually a lot of fun. It started off pretty awesome! We were waiting for our flight in the Milwaukee airport and guess who was sitting by us? Only one of the greatest quaterbacks of all times. If you live in Wisconsin you have heard about Bart Starr. He led the Green Bay Packers to the the greatest come back ever in the "Ice Bowl." He was a very nice guy. I saw his Super Bowl ring and got a picture of him and Casey. It was an awesome start to vacation.

Disney world was not too busy and we managed to get on most of the rides. We only saw Stitch and Mickey Mouse but that was fine with Casey. He would rather ride on rides then stand in line to see a character. Who could blame him? If you ask him what his favorite ride was you'll get a different answer each time. Ky even went on most of the rides. Her favorite was probably Buzz Lightyear. She controlled the car while I shot at evil Zorg!

Ky's Dr. update

Kylin saw her urologist before we left for Florida on May 17th. She had an ultrasound of her kidneys and then saw the Dr. She was such a good girl for the entire time we were at the hospital. Casey was also very good and even got a hockey guy on the way out. Children's Hospital of Milwaukee is AWESOME! Every time we've been there they have gone out of their way to make the kids feel comfortable.

Kylin's ultrasound came back ok. I say ok because the Dr. gave me a but.... He told me her films looked ok BUT the right kidney was small. He didn't really say how small but he said that we need to keep an eye on it. If she has a fever and no other signs we need to get her seen right away. They want to make sure she doesn't get an infection that reaches her kidneys. They increased the dose of her antibiotic and we need to make sure she doesn't get any infections. She goes back in 6 months and has to have a

Voiding cystourethrogram (VCUG)http://kidney.niddk.nih.gov/kudiseases/pubs/vesicoureteralreflux/index.htm:
A test that examines the urethra and bladder while the bladder fills and
empties. A liquid that can be seen on x rays is placed in the bladder through a
catheter. Pictures are taken when the bladder is filled and when the child
urinates. This test can reveal abnormalities of the inside of the urethra and
bladder. The test can also determine whether the flow of urine is normal when
the bladder empties.
This will show if her reflux is getting better, staying the same, or getting worse. She had a grade 4 on both sides so we're hoping that grade decreases. She also has to have another ultrasound to see how her kidneys are doing. So there will be no more on this (hopefully) until Nov.

Ready... Set... GO!

Casey & Ky

I can't believe Ky is already 9 months old! She doesn't see her Dr. till next month (I have no idea how we got a month behind) but I tried to weigh her and get her height. She's weighing in at 18.5 pounds and is almost 29 inches long. I found a growth chart online and plugged in her #s and she's in the 75-90% for height and 25-50% for weight. She's only gained a little over 8 pounds in 9 months. Hopefully her Dr. doesn't have a problem with that. Don't know why my kids are skinny. Casey was wearing a pair of 2T shorts yesterday. Sure hope the size 4 shorts I bought him the other day fit.
Do you see my tooth (click the pic and that might help)?

I believe Ky is cutting her second tooth. Her first one came in on Easter. I can't wait for that second tooth to come in so she'll stop looking like a snagglepuss. At this rate, she'll be loosing teeth before they all come in. The tooth works great for eating watermelon. She goes crazy over it. Do you think it has anything to do with her mommy eating about a watermelon a day when she was pregnant?

We're getting our bags packed because we are heading to Florida next week. M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E here we come! Yes I think we are insane but are looking forward to our trip. We are only going to do a day at Magic Kingdom and then a day at Seaworld and then two days at the beach. We'll have to go back when Ky can enjoy it more. We're planning on just following Casey around and doing whatever he wants to do. I did look online and found out that Casey can ride most of the rides so it won't be a total waste.

I'm working on getting a video of Casey at skating to put up.
